Petrockstowe is a small village with a pub and two churches. Oh, and two petrol pumps on the pavement, next to the road!
While NCN 27 cuts through the dge of the village, and doesn't take you into the heart of it, there is of course no reason why you can't divert for a short while and look around this quite gorgeous village.

Before the fast, busy A386 was built, the road through Petrockstowe used to be the main road between Hatherleigh and Great Torrington, and if it still was the main road, this village would have been completely ruined. As it stands, it is an idyllic rural location.
