Monthly challenge: February

I thought I’d spice things up a bit for you, by setting you a monthly challenge, starting this month. These challenges will vary considerable – some will involve cycling, and some will involve walking. Most would involve being outside, but certainly not all. Why should you do it? Simple: to add some fun to your life, and perhaps even to that of somebody else.

February’s Challenge

For February, I have TWO challenges for you! The first is the easiest: when queuing at a coffee shop, pay for a coffee for the person in the queue behind you, then walk away before they can thank you, without offering any explanation. Just a simple random act of kindness. If by some chance you ended up having the person in front of you pay for your coffee, still pay for that of the person behind you. Oh, and if you do get a coffee bought for you by some random stranger, please tell us so in the comments? If you buy someone else a coffee, please keep quiet about it? Random acts of kindness only count if you don’t go telling everyone about it.

The second challenge is a bit more elaborate: go for a fancy-dress bike ride! You don’t have to be quite so elaborate as the FantasyCyclist, but of course you can even try to outdo him (though that would be very, VERY hard to do). He’s the man in the photo above, and can regularly be seen cycling on his spectacularly-decorated bike in London. The only judge of what constitutes “fancy-dress” will be you. If you’re up for it, I’d be delighted to post some photos of you in your fancy-dress in March’s version of the Monthly Challenge.

Go on, release your inhibitions, step outside of your comfort zone, and have a blast! And while you’re at it, encourage as many others as you can to do the same! After all, a group of cyclists in fantasy dress is even better than a single cyclist.
