Adventure Journal

The  WillCycle  Adventure  Journal

I’m excited to announce the WillCycle Adventure Journal. What’s an Adventure Journal, you ask? It’s a small book that you are meant to take with you on adventures, to make notes in. Some of my best thinking’s been done on the bike, and I expect that may be true for you, too. That’s why I tend to ride with a notebook, or a journal, and that’s the inspiration for the WillCycle Adventure Journal.

UPDATE: I no longer offer these for sale.

Handmade  with  love

Yes, this Adventure Journal was handmade, by me. It is bound in fabric-backed cork and is vegan friendly. At A6 size, it’s small enough to easily fit into most pockets, and will hardly take up any space in your panniers. The pages are white, unlined paper, so they’re equally good for notes, or sketching. It is kept closed by a paracord that wraps around it. At the end of the paracord, there is a tiny acorn. Because great ideas can grow from the smallest of acorns.

Extra,  useful  content

Inside the journal is a crash card, and some space for your emergency contact’s details. At the back there is a pocket containing several packing lists, for when going cycle touring. These are removable, to make it easy for you to use a pack list sheet for every adventure. On some of the pages there are some cycling quotes, too. The inner pages at the front and the back are cut from an old Ordnance Survey map, showing contour lines and more of a small part of South Devon.

A  great  gift

The WillCycle Adventure Journal will make a great gift for the cyclist who already has everything. Remember, this is handmade, with my own hands. I planned it, and I taught myself how to make it. This journal is unique. There simply is nothing like it anywhere. I’m very happy with mine, and I want to share that happiness with at least one other person.

Winning!

Somebody will be winning the first full Adventure Journal I made. My own one doesn’t have any printing inside, as it was the prototype. The lucky winner will receive a completely unique journal, made with my own hands. No really, I even cut several of the pages down to A6 size by hand. I bound it myself, and covered it in the cork material. I am immensely proud of this journal, and I have a nagging suspicion that the lucky winner will love it, too.

How do you enter the draw? Simple: just comment on this post (your comment won’t be published). On the 20th of May I will use the usual online random picker to select the winner. Of course, the winner will need to tell me their address, so I can post the journal out.

  1. This sounds like a really amazing product. The only further suggestion I would make would be for the cover to have pockets on the inside to stuff paper mementoes from the trip – tickets, postcards, leaflets etc

    • That’s an excellent suggestion! There’s a pocket at the rear, but in future versions I’ll include a pocket at the front, too.
