I took this picture below this morning. I enlarged the sign on the back of the cement mixing lorry, to make it easier to read. So where does this fit in? Is the company owning the lorry being soft, warm and fuzzy and full of love for cyclists?

Or is this simply so they can claim in court “Well, Your Honour, the stupid sod ended up crushed beneath our wheels DESPITE the sign we put up to warn him, so it was entirely his own fault!”

Call me a cynic, but I see the sign a some form of legal damage limitation. If they truly cared about cyclists, they’d have a great deal more on their vehicles, such as many flashing lights down the left side of the lorry that light up when it is indicating to turn left. Mind you, that’s IF the driver actually indicates – this one today seemed to have been rationing his indicators.
