Prestatyn to Rhos-on-Sea Cycle Route Overall Rating: ⭐⭐⭐⭐
This stunning and mainly flat route of 15.2 miles winds its way from Prestatyn to Rhos-on-Sea, almost entirely traffic-free. I started the route on the map at Prestatyn train station, and ended it just past the Colwyn Bay station. That allows you the option of cycling it one way, and returning by train. Just do ensure you read my Bikes On Trains guide first.
Do bear in mind that it is a coastal route, with very little shelter from the wind, which can blow straight from the sea. The entire route is shared use and can get busy with pedestrians during the high season.
All photos, and much of the information here is by SHallam. All errors are mine.
Surface
The entire route has a smooth tarred surface.
Bikes
Pretty much any type of bike can be used along the route. Trikes and cargo bikes may struggle in high season, due to many pedestrians.
Toilets
Available at the Prestatyn train station, and at several points along the route. Also at the pub at the end, and at Colwyn Bay train station.
