Here’s a short little video clip I was given by a colleague, showing the final span of Gem Bridge is now in place. Although not clearly visible in the video, a significant portion of the deck also have been laid. You can see the temporary bridge used by construction vehicles.
The small wooden bridge that used to be there is being re-used close to Exeter, so when the project is finally completed (hopefully we’re in the home straights now) the only way of crossing the river without going in the water will be Gem Bridge itself.
